Mermy on the Rocks

How have you all been, spiffy I hope?  Today It’s my turn to inspire your creative fires.  So I know you all get excited when Amanda does a new release and so I thought I would inspire you today with your fantasy dream is Mermaid on the Rocks..  Who doesn't want to be a mermy with all that flowy hair and swishy tail which glimmers and sparkles in the water.

Anyhooo I digress, I went into a little tangent there…

Here she is …….  <insert drum roll here>

mermyontherocks1stjune

mermyontherocks1stjune2

mermyontherocks1stjune3

So for this mix I used:

  • Promarkers to colour
  • Noor Designs goldfish bowl template and bubble template
  • Bling, ribbons and lace from stash
  • Acetate clear
  • Sandy modelling paste
  • Millions, maybe trillions of 3d foam squares
  • stickles galore.

So I cut out the bowl template, which folds in half..  I cut out the middle of half the bowl and added some layering which is hard to see but she is, I promise bwahahahaha!! I popped the clear acetate on the hole i just cut to make it for the glass.  I added some sandy textured modelling paste on to the backing papers with the bubble template.  I layered up the front and back with the gazillions of 3d foam squares.

So pop over to Amanda at Faery Ink and grab yourself this little girl..

Happy creating xxx

Faery Ink 12th Birthday

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to youuuuu
Happy Birthday dear Faery Ink -ah
Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuu (and many more)

Wowzers! 12 years old.  That’s a lot of years to still be in the graphic community.  I remember when Amanda first burst on to the scene.  She and I were in the country graphics community.  I couldn't draw and neither could she  Amanda was amazing at drawing and bringing a totally new concept to the graphic community.  I remember her site theme had a big black and white checks everywhere which is her theme tune ‘Alice in Wonderland’  if you hadn't caught on.  But you know I stalked followed her through many different times and trends.  Some happy, some sad but all in all very creative.  Our friendship has always been an internet one and we are friends who do or don’t talk but on my part I am always there if she needs me.

So here we are in 2015 Manda has moved in to the digi stamp community and hello here is one of her UH-MAZING images that I loved colouring.  do you like it? Do ya? DO ya?  D D D DOOO YA!!?

BubblequeenfaeryFIbloghop

I am kinda girly but I do like an edge to my things.  I love fantasy and as you can see Amanda does too.  You know I think Amanda has everyone's tastes at heart.  I know that she loves to draw darker images so I colour them all in pink lol!! ...

And GUESS WHAT!!!! <Insert drum roll ... >  Amanda has been generous enough to allow me give this digi stamp to one lucky commenter.  Oh YEAH!  How fabulous is that??  Fabby indeed, I should say lol!

bubblequeenfaeryFIbloghop2

The image that I used is called The Bubble Fairy Queen which can be purchased over at Amanda’s shop Faery Ink.  But one lucky winner could be skipping home with this just for commenting on this post.  I chose this one because I love the way that the girl is looking at her friend, which of course is pink PAH!!  Well come on what's not to like, in fact, I think I would like to see this girl in grey tones too or dark reds...  Anyhoo This is definitely one of my faves, Amanda did ask me to choose one, I think she was being kinda selfish because I have many, many favourites.  So let me shut up chatting and you let continue your hopping or if  just joining in, make sure you check out the original blog hop post below:

Don’t forget to comment on this post down below for your chance to win this cute digi from Faery Ink…

For more chances of winning why not hop over and see my DT sisters and see what they have up for grabs!!

So Long Yesterday

Hello my lovelies.  The day is wonderfully bright.  I love this time of year.  The first cuts of grass and the birdies tweeting away or in my case the seagulls squawking.  But how lovely is spring?

So the last two weeks we ate chocolate and hot cross buns and enjoyed a restful time away from work.  Oh no wait that was just me, everyone else did what they did best lol!

I finished a few projects and started a new one which I am keeping to myself until I have finished.  The one I did finish I am really proud of.  I did take forever, because darlings that’s how I roll – slowly hahahaha!

CCK-Solongyesterday

So here is my pride of joy for now which I love.  I did not rush, but then I never do.  So my list of ingredient's I will tell you as I go along.

I used a blank canvas from my local store and covered it ripped pieces of pastel coloured stash paper.  I spritzed with some shimmer paints very very lightly and I then used Tim Holtz tissue paper (new love item) to shove on and pasted it on with a pva glue/water mixture.

solongyesterdayclup

I used So long yesterday digi from Ching-Chou Kuik who you can find at etsy.  I used a mixture of promarkers and copics to colour her in.  I couldn’t list them all as I tend to go over with many shades.  I used some tulle to make the bow and on the edge is a glass bead thingy again from stash.

solongyesterdaybutton

She looks a little washed out, my fault on taking the picture.  I got her from my local store she is part of the Mirabelle collection from santoro.  I think you can pic up these anywhere really.

solongyesterdayflowers

Flowers are from my stash garden and I usually get all my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Solongyesterdaysenti

I love this sentiment.  I found it online and it doesn’t seem to have an author??  I printed this up from my canon using word.  I practised a few times to get it right then I went ahead and printed on pretty paper stash edging with distress ink.  (I really need to get vintage photo)

sonlongyesterdaybutter

Butterfly, Organza, and meshy stuff from stash – I can’t remember where from but it was online.

I am entering this over at Faery Ink Facebook Challenge which is all about pastels.  I’m Lovin It *sang McDonalds style*

Copic Markers – Skin
Derwent Inktense Pencils for water colour background
White jelly roll pen

Happy Sunday

Isn’t it just a happy Sunday too.  I was up nice an early, had my shower and put my PJ’s on.  My aim for the day was to do some work on my essay, finish my challenge for Faery Ink and then just relax as you do… So far I have finished my challenge for Faery Ink lol!!  To be fair <insert justifiable excuses here> I did sort out my stash of yarn and stationery at the side of my chair …

For you stationery lovers.  I recently discovered filo faxing/journaling what ever you would call it.  Here is mine for the week that I decorated with under the sea theme.

It’s not as nice as some of the ladies but still it’s really bright for my week at work.  I love it.

I also did this.  Amanda over at Faery Ink has a challenge on which I think I am still in time for LOL!!! Anyhoo it was Mardi Gras and I wanted to do a Day of the dead mask so this is what I came up with.  I used Aurora wings stamp and my promarkers to colour in.  But funny I haven’t coloured for a while and I am so out of practise.  The calendar is a freebie from Live Laugh Rowe.  It has the wonderful quote on it and it shall be going on my note board at work.

On the crochet I am still stash busting away a little sneaky peak. The challenge is over here at Linda's Crafty Corner

So I am off to enjoy the rest of my lovely sunny Sunday…

fiasco of birthday’s

Summer is here! OH YEAH! YEEEEHAWWWW!  Are you happy?  Well thanks for asking but no, the heat is my nemesis lol.  Warm I can do, hot is a big no, no.  I get all sticky and puffy and sweaty and smelly and tired and bothered and BURNED lol!  Other than that I have had a really upside down week.   Charlie celebrated his 20th birthday, Sonny celebrated his 16th birthday.  I celebrated cried at my credit card statement bwahahahahahaha…

On top of all the fiasco of birthday’s I made a few cards and a crocheted pursed.

SDC12189
{This is for my Aunty Chris}

SDC12193
{This for my friend Gina}

I didn’t do the boys one this year as they don't really DO birthday cards any more lol.  I used promarkers to colour them in and Tiddly Inks Fayth Stamps <3 Tiddly ..

SDC12195
Now this purse slightly off balance I know, but it was my first attempt, which as you all know mum gets the try outs lol…  Don’t tell her though.  I think in hindsight maybe I should have counted how many sew holes there were and then increased to the same diameter as the snap frame.  Hmmmm Yes! I think I will try that was next time?  I think I have way to many stitches.  Just do extra rows?  Oh well try and try and then try again.

You Don’t Want To Know

Hello Everyone.  I hope your day isn’t as miserable as mine?..  In the past week or so we have had every possible season lol..  And I have been poorly BOOOOOOO but not dying horahhhhhh! Not a lot of crafting BOOOOOOOO but I did get a new job.  And I have been working it for a week and I LOVE IT!!  I have just finished some easter cones while listening to The Rocky Horror Soundtrack…  Sad I know but still I love it bwahahahhaha!

SDC12132

A birthday card for my lovely work colleague

SDC12135

Mothers day Card for my ex’s mum.  We are still close and she is so helpful with the kids.  I also am still practising clouds and think maybe I am improving.. I added some stickles, just because I can’t leave nothing alone lol.

SDC12138

I actually liked the way this one came out.  So this is the story that goes with it *SIGH!*

Mum: Can you make me a card for my friend at work?
Me:   Yeah sure when for?
Mum: *Whispers* Tomorrow!
Me:   When?
Mum: *AHEM!! Tomorrow?!
Me:   WHAT!! Bloody hello ( and a lot of other stuff that cant be repeated.)
Mum: Laughing!!
Me:   Really breaking my new years resolution of not swearing now!
Mum: Roaring with laughter
Me:   Getting all my bits together

So In such short notice I did the button heart and filled it up with glossy accents and of course I had to have some stickles but just a little.  Added some twine and bobs your uncle.  I did print the sentiment from Pink Petticoat.

Ok that’s me done today, I am hoping to get round to your blogs I have a billion RSS Feeds to sift through and go and reply and ooo and ahhh at..

Out for now x

Experimentations.

Yes I have been experimenting today, and not the science kind, I was never good at atoms or H20’s lol.  Over the last few days I have been going crazy trying to work these colours I hardly use.  I have been using colours that are totally out of my comfort zone.  Forest greens, black EEK!! Petrol blue purple yah all those dark colours that scare me.  I think they scare me because I find it hard to process dark… I can’t wait to show you.

Here is a sneaky look as I haven’t quite finished.

SDC12046

So far what I have done I am proud of my experimenting because I never use these colours or when I do it’s very very sparingly..

I need to work on a leaving card for the end of term, on of our teachers are leaving for Cambridgeshire to live with her boyfriend so it’s a whole new beginning for her too..  So I want to do something special.  It’s a big thing to move, let alone move county and in with a man dun dun dunnnnnnnnn..

At the moment I am listening to Jose Gonzales.  What kind of music do you like? What are you proud of today?

flutterfairy1

Is that a mummy thing?

SDC11439[1]_thumb[1]

I framed up my picture added a garden and a few pins on the side and it sits happy on my window sill. I REALLY want to learn to take better pictures. I might do a course in how to use your camera or something.. I am so naff.

Is is me or has this year flown by? It’s April already. Currently off on holiday for the spring break yippeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately so are the boys BOOOOOO!!! I am fretting a little about the boys, they are old enough to entertain themselves (18 and 14) but yet unless I physically take them they wont do eff all the lazy little darlings….. Is that a mummy thing? Should I still be trying to entertain them, or should this be something they should do it themselves? Where oh where did I put the parenting handbook. I knew I would need it sometime. Am I worrying to much? You know I think back to when I was that age and I did my own thing. I wanted to put as much distance as I could between me and my mum to assert my own independence and as a good mummy she was she let me get on with it… Well I was also pretty much as headstrong then.. My boys just don't seem to want their independence, they want to hang on to the apron strings… Maybe I should just chop them off? They can either fly or crash right? *SIGH* What to do….

I am so jealous of happy for Sonny, he saved for an iPad (ok yes I did lend give him £20 for the case) Anyhooo I have the iPhone which is basically the same, but I sneaked off with it the other day and had a little play with it. My verdict, if you want to email, surf, watch you tube or listen to music, then its perfect, anything else you might be a little limited… Do I think it’s worth how much he paid. NO!!! Its very expensive for what it does.. I though I would be totally impressed, then again I do have the iPhone… Anyhoooo would I steal it.. Well duh!! YEAH! LOL!

Righty I am off I have 4 birthday cards to make, 2 wedding cards and I have bought a quilt kit to make up for a Christmas present. ( I like to be ahead rather than rushing)..

Happy Spring

Sunday, 12 February 2012

I got me some……

SDC11357

Yes I am wearing a red bobble hat and yes my mum has blinded me in my right eye…

Happy Sunday!! More snow last night BOOOOO!!! Rain this morning YAYYY!!! And now the sun is shinning happily though the window..  Happy Sun Happy Paula Pinkle.. How is your Sunday?..  Mine is fabulous as ever.  Today I am gonna be super lazy and have a day off..  So far I have coloured a new digi stamp with my new pencils..  Yes at larrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrst they have come have a look at my workspace (which is actually a poufee bwahahahaha)

SDC11364

I got me some prisma coloursoft premier pencils, the 132 tin.  This is a really new way of colouring but the choice of colour is fabby and deep joy..  I must admit it will take me some time to get used to this way of shading but have a look what I picked up from Scrapbook Stamp Society and I am shading..  Thank the lord for people who can draw and share with people like me who cant lol..

SDC11363

SDC11368

Not quite sure about her eye smudge but I think its ok once she is carded up properly.

I finished the card from last week and at the moment there is not much difference between the derwent inktense and the prisma coloursoft..  Practise, practise, practise, practise.

SDC11369

I really love to create beautiful things, they may not be that way to you or to anyone else but to me, it is sooooooooooo theraputic, I can lose myself and indulge in a world of my own even if its for a short while, its a great feeling…

Well blimey this morning I was reading Little K Smiths blog and apparently Google is closing its Google friends… WHY??? Oh who knows why lol…  Anyhooooooo good news Linky Followers have come to the rescue, and if you are like me and like to be liked then this will replace Google friends.

Heart breaking news today!  Unfortunately not shocking.  A talent given to us by God.  I guess, a woman who was struggling with inner demons, who knows!  Lets hope that Whitney Houston is resting now..  May god be with her family especially her daughter, lets hope that the hand of God rests on her and gives her some peace in her pain.

li-houston-02117275

Good bye Whitney!
