Mermy on the Rocks

How have you all been, spiffy I hope?  Today It’s my turn to inspire your creative fires.  So I know you all get excited when Amanda does a new release and so I thought I would inspire you today with your fantasy dream is Mermaid on the Rocks..  Who doesn't want to be a mermy with all that flowy hair and swishy tail which glimmers and sparkles in the water.

Anyhooo I digress, I went into a little tangent there…

Here she is …….  <insert drum roll here>

mermyontherocks1stjune

mermyontherocks1stjune2

mermyontherocks1stjune3

So for this mix I used:

  • Promarkers to colour
  • Noor Designs goldfish bowl template and bubble template
  • Bling, ribbons and lace from stash
  • Acetate clear
  • Sandy modelling paste
  • Millions, maybe trillions of 3d foam squares
  • stickles galore.

So I cut out the bowl template, which folds in half..  I cut out the middle of half the bowl and added some layering which is hard to see but she is, I promise bwahahahaha!! I popped the clear acetate on the hole i just cut to make it for the glass.  I added some sandy textured modelling paste on to the backing papers with the bubble template.  I layered up the front and back with the gazillions of 3d foam squares.

So pop over to Amanda at Faery Ink and grab yourself this little girl..

Happy creating xxx

Faery Ink 12th Birthday

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to youuuuu
Happy Birthday dear Faery Ink -ah
Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuu (and many more)

Wowzers! 12 years old.  That’s a lot of years to still be in the graphic community.  I remember when Amanda first burst on to the scene.  She and I were in the country graphics community.  I couldn't draw and neither could she  Amanda was amazing at drawing and bringing a totally new concept to the graphic community.  I remember her site theme had a big black and white checks everywhere which is her theme tune ‘Alice in Wonderland’  if you hadn't caught on.  But you know I stalked followed her through many different times and trends.  Some happy, some sad but all in all very creative.  Our friendship has always been an internet one and we are friends who do or don’t talk but on my part I am always there if she needs me.

So here we are in 2015 Manda has moved in to the digi stamp community and hello here is one of her UH-MAZING images that I loved colouring.  do you like it? Do ya? DO ya?  D D D DOOO YA!!?

BubblequeenfaeryFIbloghop

I am kinda girly but I do like an edge to my things.  I love fantasy and as you can see Amanda does too.  You know I think Amanda has everyone's tastes at heart.  I know that she loves to draw darker images so I colour them all in pink lol!! ...

And GUESS WHAT!!!! <Insert drum roll ... >  Amanda has been generous enough to allow me give this digi stamp to one lucky commenter.  Oh YEAH!  How fabulous is that??  Fabby indeed, I should say lol!

bubblequeenfaeryFIbloghop2

The image that I used is called The Bubble Fairy Queen which can be purchased over at Amanda’s shop Faery Ink.  But one lucky winner could be skipping home with this just for commenting on this post.  I chose this one because I love the way that the girl is looking at her friend, which of course is pink PAH!!  Well come on what's not to like, in fact, I think I would like to see this girl in grey tones too or dark reds...  Anyhoo This is definitely one of my faves, Amanda did ask me to choose one, I think she was being kinda selfish because I have many, many favourites.  So let me shut up chatting and you let continue your hopping or if  just joining in, make sure you check out the original blog hop post below:

Don’t forget to comment on this post down below for your chance to win this cute digi from Faery Ink…

So Long Yesterday

Hello my lovelies.  The day is wonderfully bright.  I love this time of year.  The first cuts of grass and the birdies tweeting away or in my case the seagulls squawking.  But how lovely is spring?

So the last two weeks we ate chocolate and hot cross buns and enjoyed a restful time away from work.  Oh no wait that was just me, everyone else did what they did best lol!

I finished a few projects and started a new one which I am keeping to myself until I have finished.  The one I did finish I am really proud of.  I did take forever, because darlings that’s how I roll – slowly hahahaha!

CCK-Solongyesterday

So here is my pride of joy for now which I love.  I did not rush, but then I never do.  So my list of ingredient's I will tell you as I go along.

I used a blank canvas from my local store and covered it ripped pieces of pastel coloured stash paper.  I spritzed with some shimmer paints very very lightly and I then used Tim Holtz tissue paper (new love item) to shove on and pasted it on with a pva glue/water mixture.

solongyesterdayclup

I used So long yesterday digi from Ching-Chou Kuik who you can find at etsy.  I used a mixture of promarkers and copics to colour her in.  I couldn’t list them all as I tend to go over with many shades.  I used some tulle to make the bow and on the edge is a glass bead thingy again from stash.

solongyesterdaybutton

She looks a little washed out, my fault on taking the picture.  I got her from my local store she is part of the Mirabelle collection from santoro.  I think you can pic up these anywhere really.

solongyesterdayflowers

Flowers are from my stash garden and I usually get all my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Solongyesterdaysenti

I love this sentiment.  I found it online and it doesn’t seem to have an author??  I printed this up from my canon using word.  I practised a few times to get it right then I went ahead and printed on pretty paper stash edging with distress ink.  (I really need to get vintage photo)

sonlongyesterdaybutter

Butterfly, Organza, and meshy stuff from stash – I can’t remember where from but it was online.

I am entering this over at Faery Ink Facebook Challenge which is all about pastels.  I’m Lovin It *sang McDonalds style*

Love is always around

I was sitting there staring at my Son, who was happily munching on a tube of pringles when I suddenly had an epiphany – Yes it’s so true I had this super hic up and my eyes did that spinny thing.  Anyhooo moving swiftly along.  Art does not come natural to me and I have to work at it very hard so when I do the urge to create something spectacular I have to get jiggy with it.

So for this months inspirational post from me <Insert Drum Roll Here>  Yep! You got it, I made a knitting needle holder for my mum…  The only problem is that she loves it so much she isn’t using it <Insert confusion> Oh well! The recipe is below how I did this.

Love Fairy

Card Recipe:

  • Arielle Love Fairy Digital Image from Faery Ink
  • Various ProMarkers/Shimmer ink/Stickles
  • 1 Pringles Tube (with or without pringles)
  • Patterned paper from stash
  • Double sided sticky tape
  • Fuzzy Ribbon from stash
  • Rosette Ribbon from stash
  • Embellies from stash

I hope I have inspired you to go forth and create.  Faery Ink has many wonderful artists there..  So check it out and also the facebook page where you can show us your creations.  I look forward to meeting you there..

Happy Sunday

Isn’t it just a happy Sunday too.  I was up nice an early, had my shower and put my PJ’s on.  My aim for the day was to do some work on my essay, finish my challenge for Faery Ink and then just relax as you do… So far I have finished my challenge for Faery Ink lol!!  To be fair <insert justifiable excuses here> I did sort out my stash of yarn and stationery at the side of my chair …

For you stationery lovers.  I recently discovered filo faxing/journaling what ever you would call it.  Here is mine for the week that I decorated with under the sea theme.

It’s not as nice as some of the ladies but still it’s really bright for my week at work.  I love it.

I also did this.  Amanda over at Faery Ink has a challenge on which I think I am still in time for LOL!!! Anyhoo it was Mardi Gras and I wanted to do a Day of the dead mask so this is what I came up with.  I used Aurora wings stamp and my promarkers to colour in.  But funny I haven’t coloured for a while and I am so out of practise.  The calendar is a freebie from Live Laugh Rowe.  It has the wonderful quote on it and it shall be going on my note board at work.

On the crochet I am still stash busting away a little sneaky peak. The challenge is over here at Linda's Crafty Corner

So I am off to enjoy the rest of my lovely sunny Sunday…

..painted lady butterfly’s..

It’s creepy and its’ kooky, it’s just a little spooky….  Well know these little bambino’s are my painted lady butterfly’s.  Well not at the moment they are just caterpillars.  As everyone knows I love butterfly's and when we were in IOW we went to the butterfly house and there I bought a kit..  Yeah can you imaging my gleeful squeals as I ran to the counter to pay?  So in the kit you get a voucher to redeem at insect lore for the larva, you get a butterfly house, which I will show you as my babies grow and you get all the information to get your butterflies all good and healthy.  I received them last Wednesday and in a week they have doubled in size.  I am looking at them now and they are nearly as big as conga eels honestly! I hope they don't learn how too open the lids bwahahahaha!!!

PicMonkey Collagecreepies

This week I lost another 2.5lbs at Slimming World..  Sonny and I go and he lost 5lbs <insert a big puff up of the proud mum chest>.  Mum made a steak and onion pie from the fake away books and it was actually really nice..  I am not one for making things I don't like to save ‘syns’  I would rather just eat normal but less.

PicMonkey Collagepie

On the crochet front.  I found this wonderful, beautiful pattern.  The thing is I had to order it from etsy and it cam all the way from Canada.   It’s called the circle of love blanket and its in a little pamphlet booklet called baby snuggles.  It is discontinued, but I am sure there are a few of them floating around somewhere.

PicMonkey Collage cirlceoflove

This pattern is sooooo easy.  I made all 36 centres and I only started it last night.  I haven't been on it constantly either.

Anyhooo I am off for now and I hope that I can keep up with my blogging and I hope you enjoy my rambles xxx

It’s been …..

Forever  A few weeks huh! so much to say and so much to show you.  I think I am going to start with a blanky that I finally finished and I must say I really enjoyed doing it.
sunny spread
I followed the a Red Heart free pattern called sunny spread.  Knowing I only wanted a cot or pram size  I gauged the sizes by eyeballing it basically.  Yeah a no measuring girl for me.  I used Aran white from style craft and baby soft Aran from King Cole.  Both are very, soft and I really loved working the pattern.  Knowing how easy this was I would definitely do another one and maybe a rainbow coloured one..  Hmmmm!!
Anyhoo that is my where I am on the crochet front.  I have more news which I will put in another post…
Have fun my friends and hookers x

fiasco of birthday’s

Summer is here! OH YEAH! YEEEEHAWWWW!  Are you happy?  Well thanks for asking but no, the heat is my nemesis lol.  Warm I can do, hot is a big no, no.  I get all sticky and puffy and sweaty and smelly and tired and bothered and BURNED lol!  Other than that I have had a really upside down week.   Charlie celebrated his 20th birthday, Sonny celebrated his 16th birthday.  I celebrated cried at my credit card statement bwahahahahahaha…

On top of all the fiasco of birthday’s I made a few cards and a crocheted pursed.

SDC12189
{This is for my Aunty Chris}

SDC12193
{This for my friend Gina}

I didn’t do the boys one this year as they don't really DO birthday cards any more lol.  I used promarkers to colour them in and Tiddly Inks Fayth Stamps <3 Tiddly ..

SDC12195
Now this purse slightly off balance I know, but it was my first attempt, which as you all know mum gets the try outs lol…  Don’t tell her though.  I think in hindsight maybe I should have counted how many sew holes there were and then increased to the same diameter as the snap frame.  Hmmmm Yes! I think I will try that was next time?  I think I have way to many stitches.  Just do extra rows?  Oh well try and try and then try again.

……its a win, win …….

SDC12167

So here is my newest cushion cover and in all it only really took a few hours..  I did end up making up my own pom pom flower.  As hard as I did try I could not get the one suggested.  The good thing is that the dog hasn’t realised that I have finished it yet.  I got the inspiration from one of my blog subscriptions Apple Blossom Dreams.  Astri has done a wonderful job with hers, mine is well mine lol..

I made mine with Patons Smoothie in White and something that I got from the range in Clacton on Sea. I also used some lurking blue cotton.  I used up the last little bit from my stash and sadly there is no more of that delish colour BOOOO…

Back to work for me next week.  I must say GOOD I am really tired.  There is always so much to be done at home.  But lucky for me UNLUCKY for Sonny though.  He is going back to 6th form next term hopefully and so he has about oooooohh 3mths to spare.  So guess what bitch slave boyo will be doing.  Yes all my ghastly chores that I hate.  Of course I did say to him if he does a good job I will pay him. (That’s to ease the guilt of me making him do these chores.) Anyway its a win, win, he earns a few pennies for over the summer and I get my rotten jobs done.

I think this afternoon I am going to make some bunting for yarndale and get that sent off to lucy over at attic 24. After dinner, after a wee power nap too I think lol!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday xxx

You Don’t Want To Know

Hello Everyone.  I hope your day isn’t as miserable as mine?..  In the past week or so we have had every possible season lol..  And I have been poorly BOOOOOOO but not dying horahhhhhh! Not a lot of crafting BOOOOOOOO but I did get a new job.  And I have been working it for a week and I LOVE IT!!  I have just finished some easter cones while listening to The Rocky Horror Soundtrack…  Sad I know but still I love it bwahahahhaha!

SDC12132

A birthday card for my lovely work colleague

SDC12135

Mothers day Card for my ex’s mum.  We are still close and she is so helpful with the kids.  I also am still practising clouds and think maybe I am improving.. I added some stickles, just because I can’t leave nothing alone lol.

SDC12138

I actually liked the way this one came out.  So this is the story that goes with it *SIGH!*

Mum: Can you make me a card for my friend at work?
Me:   Yeah sure when for?
Mum: *Whispers* Tomorrow!
Me:   When?
Mum: *AHEM!! Tomorrow?!
Me:   WHAT!! Bloody hello ( and a lot of other stuff that cant be repeated.)
Mum: Laughing!!
Me:   Really breaking my new years resolution of not swearing now!
Mum: Roaring with laughter
Me:   Getting all my bits together

So In such short notice I did the button heart and filled it up with glossy accents and of course I had to have some stickles but just a little.  Added some twine and bobs your uncle.  I did print the sentiment from Pink Petticoat.

Ok that’s me done today, I am hoping to get round to your blogs I have a billion RSS Feeds to sift through and go and reply and ooo and ahhh at..

Out for now x

A Patch of Spring…

This Possibly may be the most famous grassy wreath on the internet lol.. So of course I just had to make one.  Mum keeps touching it every time she goes by it.  Which mean my grass may become worn, I will have to change the sign to please do not fondle the grass bwahahahahaha..  I have hung it on the top door to my little flat and when you come in from the cold you see it and for some reason it does make you have a little smile..

SDC12095

SDC12097

I couldn’t help myself I had to add the butterflies otherwise how would you know its mine lol? I would love to to make your own and just drop me a line or a comment and I will come and visit your patch of spring.

You can find Patty’s Tutorial to make your very own patch of spring here http://pattyschaffer.typepad.com/capture_the_details/2010/03/monday-make-it-spring-baby-grass-wreath.html

Belgium chocolates…….

Well I have been a super busy girl today.  I finally have stopped.  The light has run out so no more colouring.  So I am catching up on my emails, and reading my rss feeds, which I love so much.

Today started with me getting up super early, straightening my hair and then off to the salon when I meet up with Gemma and we decide what style I am going to have, and then go and do it.  I have gone with an emo cut. and no I haven’t had a chance to take a pic.  When I returned home I sorted out my craft cupboard *rolls eyes* sometimes things should be left alone, but I did gain a shelf.  The good thing is there wasn’t hardly anything I parted with today which is good, because it means I am either not buying stuff I waste or I am using it.  I don’t know about you but are you one of these people that buy something and then don’t use it because it is so gorgeous bwahahahhahha..  Anyhoooo I definitely, have stopped being wasteful.  Yippeeeeeee!!..

I did manage to finish the trinket box I started.  Lots of lace and gluing patience lol.  I am thinking of getting or 5 of those really special choccies to pop in there.  We have a Thornton's at the shopping village.  Personally I can’t stand Thornton chocolate, but lots do.  I will think on that, the farm do great Belgium chocolates too.

SDC12066

I painted he box with acrylic paint and a coat of gloss that took the longest time letting it dry completely between coats. I added some lace from stash to the lid and bottom of the box and around the lace at the top I added some leaf ribbon i got from cuddly buddly.  The flowers, pins and other ebellies are all from my stash..

Today I am proud how that box came out and I am proud that I was proactive.

What makes you proud today?

…grabbing an hour…

*Yawns*  Well I made it to Friday, just about lol..  I am EXHAUSTED!!!.  Well I am crafting every day, but now I am back at work and the light isn’t on my side it’s like grabbing an hour in the morning.  Anyhooo This is my work desk at the moment.  There is my box of stamps, which I actually sorted out all the ones I am not going to use and have used but no longer require.  This is what I like to do.  This scissors are my favourite, they are from Tim Holtz but I don't get my fingers caught in them and they are as sharp as the day I bought them.

SDC12065

I started my Christmas cards today.  Yes I am medicated, yes I am medicated and yes I am medicated bwahahahahahahaa!!!  I decided to do them super early because I hated doing them in bulk last year and they drove me mad.  So I stamped up 1 set for me, 1 set for charity and 1 set to sell.  Hopefully!  I decided to make three of some of the things I make.  1 for me, one I donate to a charity and the other I want to sell.  Well The sell thing, is someone at school advised me to go to a few local shops and they buy handmade cards.  And I thought well if they don't sell I can always donate them to charity too. Tomorrow I am starting my spring cleaning.. Following Sandra’s post’s I really have only weekends and school holidays to get stuck in.  So tomorrow I am off for a haircut and then I am going to do some colouring and then DUN DUN DUN <insert screaming> I’m going to clean out my craft cupboard and I really mean go to town and have my throw out and give away boxes at hand, there is so much toot in there I have NO intentions of using so why not give it away.  And I know a girl who has just started to make her own cards.

Anyhooo I am off to bed I am sooooooooooooo tir….ZZZZZzzzzz….

Pretty Crafty Home

Last year Sandra over at My Cherry Heart decided to take action in her home.  She cleaned, spruced, organised, de-cluttered as well as decorating and making things to make her home prettier.

This year I have decided to take up her 2012 challenge, ok I know I am a year late but hey who cares lol..  So the month of January will be me spring cleaning..  I am pretty much de cluttered and organised, but there is always some drawer that gets cluttered..  If you want to join in you can.  Sandra is silently doing a PCH this year but not blogging, but that doesn’t mean you can’t join in too.

My lovely yarn came today SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!SDC12055

I have a few things to finish and then I am going to make a start on my little spring wreath..  Today I am proud that I am still managing to be proactive rather than a veggie on the sofa..  I made a box today for a gift, and painted another box for a gift..  Errrrr I really should have put a sealant on the box first, the acrylic paint I am using seems to disappear when I am painting.  Oh well I think one more coat and it should be lovely, I’ll show you when it’s finished.  I need to make an envelope and then I can start some challenge projects..

I am so happy to have found that I love crafting.. I get all fuzzy and excited inside when I start new projects.

Oh also I would like to arrange some spotlight posts to my blog..  If you are interested please don't hesitate to contact me.  I think it’s all about sharing and sharing alike.

What makes you happy?

Quilt and Bind I must quilt and Bind!

Happy Thursday everyone.  And despite the fact I still do indeed have a quilt to quilt and bind I thought I would pop in and show you a few things..  Not that I can upload or anything as my internet has died at this very moment bwahahaha!! Lucky for me though I do use windows live writer which is soooooooo much better for me that farting about with blogger..  Anyhooo I digress onward I shall go..
So I finished my crocheted hat which I found the pattern in Inside Crochet Magazine, which mum subscribed for me for my birthday.  And I know what you are thinking!! I had all the jokes thank you very much.
SDC11992
“Wow you look like a sperm!”  Thanks for that Sonny!! Not that I have ever known a sperm to know..  Don’t you just love kids!!
SDC11994
I finished up covering my Christmas club book for next year.  It felt ever so flat, but because it has lots of use to it it’s more practical.
SDC11996
SDC11998
I used the image from The Chart Shop – Bentley Bearing Gifts
And finally Amanda from Faery Ink who I have probably known for about 10 years has started to make Digi Stamps.  I originally found Faery Ink when I started to learn to draw graphics and Amanda offered Tutorials and such so you could also make your own goodies.  Well over the years. life has been lived and although Amanda still stuck with graphic designs I kinda moved into the world of craft.  Anyhooo to cut a long story short I nagged Amanda to offer Digi’s and finally she is going to offer them YIPPEEE!! …  All I know that her grand opening of the new site is coming soon so I will keep you in the loop and let you know.  She has some amazing images so I thought I would share a few that I am going to be playing with over the next few days..
SDC12004
Anyhoo thank you so much for reading. Have a fun Thursday!
