Mermy on the Rocks

How have you all been, spiffy I hope?  Today It’s my turn to inspire your creative fires.  So I know you all get excited when Amanda does a new release and so I thought I would inspire you today with your fantasy dream is Mermaid on the Rocks..  Who doesn't want to be a mermy with all that flowy hair and swishy tail which glimmers and sparkles in the water.

Anyhooo I digress, I went into a little tangent there…

Here she is …….  <insert drum roll here>

mermyontherocks1stjune

mermyontherocks1stjune2

mermyontherocks1stjune3

So for this mix I used:

  • Promarkers to colour
  • Noor Designs goldfish bowl template and bubble template
  • Bling, ribbons and lace from stash
  • Acetate clear
  • Sandy modelling paste
  • Millions, maybe trillions of 3d foam squares
  • stickles galore.

So I cut out the bowl template, which folds in half..  I cut out the middle of half the bowl and added some layering which is hard to see but she is, I promise bwahahahaha!! I popped the clear acetate on the hole i just cut to make it for the glass.  I added some sandy textured modelling paste on to the backing papers with the bubble template.  I layered up the front and back with the gazillions of 3d foam squares.

So pop over to Amanda at Faery Ink and grab yourself this little girl..

Happy creating xxx

Faery Ink 12th Birthday

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to youuuuu
Happy Birthday dear Faery Ink -ah
Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuu (and many more)

Wowzers! 12 years old.  That’s a lot of years to still be in the graphic community.  I remember when Amanda first burst on to the scene.  She and I were in the country graphics community.  I couldn't draw and neither could she  Amanda was amazing at drawing and bringing a totally new concept to the graphic community.  I remember her site theme had a big black and white checks everywhere which is her theme tune ‘Alice in Wonderland’  if you hadn't caught on.  But you know I stalked followed her through many different times and trends.  Some happy, some sad but all in all very creative.  Our friendship has always been an internet one and we are friends who do or don’t talk but on my part I am always there if she needs me.

So here we are in 2015 Manda has moved in to the digi stamp community and hello here is one of her UH-MAZING images that I loved colouring.  do you like it? Do ya? DO ya?  D D D DOOO YA!!?

BubblequeenfaeryFIbloghop

I am kinda girly but I do like an edge to my things.  I love fantasy and as you can see Amanda does too.  You know I think Amanda has everyone's tastes at heart.  I know that she loves to draw darker images so I colour them all in pink lol!! ...

And GUESS WHAT!!!! <Insert drum roll ... >  Amanda has been generous enough to allow me give this digi stamp to one lucky commenter.  Oh YEAH!  How fabulous is that??  Fabby indeed, I should say lol!

bubblequeenfaeryFIbloghop2

The image that I used is called The Bubble Fairy Queen which can be purchased over at Amanda’s shop Faery Ink.  But one lucky winner could be skipping home with this just for commenting on this post.  I chose this one because I love the way that the girl is looking at her friend, which of course is pink PAH!!  Well come on what's not to like, in fact, I think I would like to see this girl in grey tones too or dark reds...  Anyhoo This is definitely one of my faves, Amanda did ask me to choose one, I think she was being kinda selfish because I have many, many favourites.  So let me shut up chatting and you let continue your hopping or if  just joining in, make sure you check out the original blog hop post below:

Don’t forget to comment on this post down below for your chance to win this cute digi from Faery Ink…

For more chances of winning why not hop over and see my DT sisters and see what they have up for grabs!!

So Long Yesterday

Hello my lovelies.  The day is wonderfully bright.  I love this time of year.  The first cuts of grass and the birdies tweeting away or in my case the seagulls squawking.  But how lovely is spring?

So the last two weeks we ate chocolate and hot cross buns and enjoyed a restful time away from work.  Oh no wait that was just me, everyone else did what they did best lol!

I finished a few projects and started a new one which I am keeping to myself until I have finished.  The one I did finish I am really proud of.  I did take forever, because darlings that’s how I roll – slowly hahahaha!

CCK-Solongyesterday

So here is my pride of joy for now which I love.  I did not rush, but then I never do.  So my list of ingredient's I will tell you as I go along.

I used a blank canvas from my local store and covered it ripped pieces of pastel coloured stash paper.  I spritzed with some shimmer paints very very lightly and I then used Tim Holtz tissue paper (new love item) to shove on and pasted it on with a pva glue/water mixture.

solongyesterdayclup

I used So long yesterday digi from Ching-Chou Kuik who you can find at etsy.  I used a mixture of promarkers and copics to colour her in.  I couldn’t list them all as I tend to go over with many shades.  I used some tulle to make the bow and on the edge is a glass bead thingy again from stash.

solongyesterdaybutton

She looks a little washed out, my fault on taking the picture.  I got her from my local store she is part of the Mirabelle collection from santoro.  I think you can pic up these anywhere really.

solongyesterdayflowers

Flowers are from my stash garden and I usually get all my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Solongyesterdaysenti

I love this sentiment.  I found it online and it doesn’t seem to have an author??  I printed this up from my canon using word.  I practised a few times to get it right then I went ahead and printed on pretty paper stash edging with distress ink.  (I really need to get vintage photo)

sonlongyesterdaybutter

Butterfly, Organza, and meshy stuff from stash – I can’t remember where from but it was online.

I am entering this over at Faery Ink Facebook Challenge which is all about pastels.  I’m Lovin It *sang McDonalds style*

Love is always around

I was sitting there staring at my Son, who was happily munching on a tube of pringles when I suddenly had an epiphany – Yes it’s so true I had this super hic up and my eyes did that spinny thing.  Anyhooo moving swiftly along.  Art does not come natural to me and I have to work at it very hard so when I do the urge to create something spectacular I have to get jiggy with it.

So for this months inspirational post from me <Insert Drum Roll Here>  Yep! You got it, I made a knitting needle holder for my mum…  The only problem is that she loves it so much she isn’t using it <Insert confusion> Oh well! The recipe is below how I did this.

Love Fairy

Card Recipe:

  • Arielle Love Fairy Digital Image from Faery Ink
  • Various ProMarkers/Shimmer ink/Stickles
  • 1 Pringles Tube (with or without pringles)
  • Patterned paper from stash
  • Double sided sticky tape
  • Fuzzy Ribbon from stash
  • Rosette Ribbon from stash
  • Embellies from stash

I hope I have inspired you to go forth and create.  Faery Ink has many wonderful artists there..  So check it out and also the facebook page where you can show us your creations.  I look forward to meeting you there..

Happy Sunday

Isn’t it just a happy Sunday too.  I was up nice an early, had my shower and put my PJ’s on.  My aim for the day was to do some work on my essay, finish my challenge for Faery Ink and then just relax as you do… So far I have finished my challenge for Faery Ink lol!!  To be fair <insert justifiable excuses here> I did sort out my stash of yarn and stationery at the side of my chair …

For you stationery lovers.  I recently discovered filo faxing/journaling what ever you would call it.  Here is mine for the week that I decorated with under the sea theme.

It’s not as nice as some of the ladies but still it’s really bright for my week at work.  I love it.

I also did this.  Amanda over at Faery Ink has a challenge on which I think I am still in time for LOL!!! Anyhoo it was Mardi Gras and I wanted to do a Day of the dead mask so this is what I came up with.  I used Aurora wings stamp and my promarkers to colour in.  But funny I haven’t coloured for a while and I am so out of practise.  The calendar is a freebie from Live Laugh Rowe.  It has the wonderful quote on it and it shall be going on my note board at work.

…hippy chick…

Happy, happy Tuesday to you.  I am suffering listening to Les Mis, and I must say that Hugh Jackman has a brilliant voice, who would have thunk it lol.

How am I?  We funny as it seems I am very well considering the weather doesn’t know if it’s spring or winter *sigh* When I am working at school I do have to go into the playground to watch the kids, come rain or come shine *bursts into song, swaying like the hippy chick she is*  Ahem!! Anyhooooo! I’m doing lots of projects and I am managing to keep up with them without the feeling of being overwhelmed which means I am enjoying to the projects and that my friends is how I like to roll.

Mum asked me to do her friend from work a birthday card.  She is an avid tea/coffee drinker and when I was looking for a stamp I remembered this one from Faery Ink.  Amanda really does capture life as it is..  I love her work. Anyhooo you should check out Manda’s new layout and her new freebie it is so swoony.  Have a look and leave her a comment send her some hugs we all love them don’t we…

I am getting into the box making for the cards which are a lot less than flat lol.. The more I do the better I get.  My Measurements are still terrible, I think it could be my ruler?  You never know!

Today I am proud that I am finally on the way to feeling less pointless.  What are you proud of?

SDC12099

Yes you are right if you guessed Keanu.  Yes my darling boy sent me a lovely gift box (although he did send it to Amanda to forward on) In the box was a delicious heart shaped box of choc-o-late and an edible rose and some stickers and a fabby journal from Michaels which I have been drooling over ever since Krista showed it on her blog and lastly a hand made card.

SDC12100

Of course I loved all my gifts but my card was so special and so thoughtful and so very me and the words inside were just wonderfully heart felt.  I am so speechless that someone could be so kind and to me of all people.

SDC12101

Could you imagine how my day went after my fave boy sent me his love..  Well I certainly was cheered up and it really came at the right time.  Sometimes not often enough we need to be told how fabulous we are..

SDC12102

I would like to send my hunk a big huge thank you and also thank Amanda for being so kind for sending it on to me.. ;o)

The Rain Is Falling!

But yet I feel quite contented at the moment..  I popped out to the shops today, which was nice but exhausting, but I am going to do just a little bit every day, until my strength returns to me..

Over at Deep Ocean Challenge Blog they are having their first challenge of the year and are doing something super simple.   Anyhoo they asked to share your crafting space and technically mine is everywhere..  This is my little desk I work on.  It took me ages to find something appropriate.  My lounge is like 15ft x 12ft so I needed somewhere that can be packed away.  This does perfectly.  Behind that is my draws where all my bits and bobs that I use are to hand.  My promarkers are in the tub with the big shot on that all sitting on my printer.  I’m hoping to get a little console table or something to put it away on..  In my bedroom there is a cupboard dedicated to all my crafting stuffs. Also I have a sewing unit where I do my quilting.  When its out it takes up my whole house, when it’s put away you would never know I crafted. In footstool I have all my papers and I have a bag with all my crocheting stuff.. PHEW!! And then there is my mum’s knitting stuff which she keeps in her footstool and down the side of her chair LOL!!! *SIGH*  Though I think if we had a bigger house it would still be all over the place, you know what they say, an empty shelf is a lonely one bwahahahhaa ok that’s just me then lol..

SDC12030

This is what I am proud of today.  It’s a Faery Ink Image.  Amanda has added some fabby new images over at her shop Faery Ink.  Amanda is such an awesome girl someone that I can really aspire too.  Her blog is so warm and inviting but she can’t leave anything alone and is revamping it again lol She is worse than me ha ha ha ha!!

SDC12032

Anyhooo I hope you like the card.  Thank you for looking x

What are you proud of today?

Notice Anything Different?

Seriously how cute is my ultimate fantasy of being a mermaid.  I think I do it well..  I have Amanda over at Faery Ink to thank for my little Bambi girl..  I know she does custom blog design and her prices are ridiculously cheap, so hop over and see what she can do for you. So check out her graphics site here.

So Christmas came, went and now we are doing the new year countdown.  YIPPPEEEE!! For me it’s going to be an exciting year. I don’t know why it’s going to be exciting but I do feel in my bones that something happy is going to happen.  I’m hoping that my card making skills are going to be improved or my colouring skills ooooooo I don't know, I don't know….  Anyhoo while I wait for what God has in store for me this year I thought I would show you how wicked and evil my mum is..  This is how I spent Christmas..

SDC12021

Yes snotty, sneezy, coughy, puffy and basically death warmed up..  Did I get sympathy?  OHHHHH NO Not I! You know I never wonder any more why I am single ha ha ha ha!

Anyhooo onto some nicer stuff..  I managed to get some colouring done and make a scrap page..  I did try and copy Krista’s ombre hair tut..  HMMMMM!! Yeah didn’t really work did it LOL!!  But I got the gist of what I was supposed to be doing.

SDC12026

SDC12022

So I did some doodling..  I kinda like the page I did because I put lots of colours in there..  I loved colouring in Amanda’s image.  Her art work is sooooooooo different, in a quirky cute kinda way..  You can check out her Etsy Store or her blog Faery Ink I am sure she would love a visit…

Anyhooo I suppose I best get dinner on the go.  It was nice to see Mr Sunshine today but sadly he is on his way now BOOOOOO…

Have a great day and thank you for visiting..  OOOOO and before I go.  I would like to thank the followers for following, it really means something that I’m not droning on and on to the empty space.  So thank you guys for listening x
