…soft yet bobbly…

CRIKEY!!! Happy Sunday!  This week I learned new things, I learned that when you are teaching you must breath.  You must breath in and out, slowly and deeply and always stay focused on the question in hand.  I was asked by my boss to deliver some behaviour tips and tricks to some newly qualified teachers and also trainee teachers.  That is all well and good if you are a teacher.  Was I nervous?  Yes, I worried that I would be a flop and boring, but apparently, I did what I was supposed to do and gave them things that I use with the children.  I was also asked by my big boss to do a day of teaching for year 8’s (12 – 13).  5 Hours of teaching health and happiness?  Yep is all I can say on that matter LMAO..

Moving swiftly along! So one of the trainee teachers at work is leaving in July Sad smile.  I really am fond of her, so I am in the midst of making her some fingerless mittens.  I know, I know I can hear you screaming, why.  She has cold hand syndrome, something to do with the circulation and she finds it difficult to stay warm.  She continually wears them so I thought as a parting gift from me to her I will make her a lighter purple and a darker purple..  One for the summer, one for the winter lol.  I was sneaky and asked her what her fave colour was, and it was purple.

These pair I am making from the Sirdar Tiny Tot Snuggly.  It’s really weird.  It’s soft yet bobbly.  Love it loads, its crocheting up nicely.

As for this rotten yarn.  It has quickly become my NEMISIS!! Its called Galaxy and its lovely to work with until you make a mistake and have to undo it…  ARGHHHH!! This is not for the faint of heart.  Profanities have been uttered quite a bit since I started playing with it.  But because I hate it so much it will probably come out fantastic

That was my week..  Sunday is glowing, I found a channel on sky TV called PBS America which I am totally addicted too.  I can listen and crochet all at the same time….

I am using Drops Paris Cotton Yarn for this in all colours.  I bought some ages ago and I really didn’t know what to do with it.  Then cam along a lovely pattern called Mixed Stitch Blanket and of you are very new to crochet there are picture tutorials for each stitch in full colour.

Unfortunately the yarn is an American yarn from Patons called Decor, I did pay an arm and a leg for it, but it was worth it.  The colours and the texture of the yarn is so delightful to work with.  *SIGH* I really wish i was one of these people who can substitute yarn well.  Can you use a similar yarn to the one that is recommended, or you you also go for the recommended yarn?

Anyhooo I am off now to do a little bit more.  Have a fab week!

Birthday Weekend

Happy May everyone, was it me or did that month just go super quick?  Well Mum’s birthday was back in March and I asked her what she would like and she ummed and ahhed, so I suggested would she like to see Torvil and Dean Live..  After she finished squeeing she said yes.  The only place I could get was Leeds and we were not allowed pictures so this one I sneaked in before the show started.  I must say that dancing on ice is not really my cup of tea but i did enjoy it.  I think sometimes we enjoy things for others and there she was wooping and clapping to Bolero..  I am happy she liked it.
