So Long Yesterday

Hello my lovelies.  The day is wonderfully bright.  I love this time of year.  The first cuts of grass and the birdies tweeting away or in my case the seagulls squawking.  But how lovely is spring?

So the last two weeks we ate chocolate and hot cross buns and enjoyed a restful time away from work.  Oh no wait that was just me, everyone else did what they did best lol!

I finished a few projects and started a new one which I am keeping to myself until I have finished.  The one I did finish I am really proud of.  I did take forever, because darlings that’s how I roll – slowly hahahaha!

So here is my pride of joy for now which I love.  I did not rush, but then I never do.  So my list of ingredient's I will tell you as I go along.

I used a blank canvas from my local store and covered it ripped pieces of pastel coloured stash paper.  I spritzed with some shimmer paints very very lightly and I then used Tim Holtz tissue paper (new love item) to shove on and pasted it on with a pva glue/water mixture.

I used So long yesterday digi from Ching-Chou Kuik who you can find at etsy.  I used a mixture of promarkers and copics to colour her in.  I couldn’t list them all as I tend to go over with many shades.  I used some tulle to make the bow and on the edge is a glass bead thingy again from stash.

She looks a little washed out, my fault on taking the picture.  I got her from my local store she is part of the Mirabelle collection from santoro.  I think you can pic up these anywhere really.

Flowers are from my stash garden and I usually get all my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I love this sentiment.  I found it online and it doesn’t seem to have an author??  I printed this up from my canon using word.  I practised a few times to get it right then I went ahead and printed on pretty paper stash edging with distress ink.  (I really need to get vintage photo)

Butterfly, Organza, and meshy stuff from stash – I can’t remember where from but it was online.

Tingo

Yes tingo.  Tiddly (one of my fave digi stamp designers) is holding a compo over at her challenge blog.  And it’s been a millennium since I joined in one.  So what best way to jump back on the horse is to to a challenge.

So I picked ‘Guilty of Sweet Love’ from the sweet tooth collection and I don’t think she came out too bad at all.  I chose Distress/image/patterned paper (TINGOOOOOOO!!!!!!!) for this creation and the quote is a printable from livelaughrowe

 

I used promarkers and stuff from stash to make a mini wall calendar.

Happy Sunday

Isn’t it just a happy Sunday too.  I was up nice an early, had my shower and put my PJ’s on.  My aim for the day was to do some work on my essay, finish my challenge for Faery Ink and then just relax as you do… So far I have finished my challenge for Faery Ink lol!!  To be fair <insert justifiable excuses here> I did sort out my stash of yarn and stationery at the side of my chair …

For you stationery lovers.  I recently discovered filo faxing/journaling what ever you would call it.  Here is mine for the week that I decorated with under the sea theme.

 
It’s not as nice as some of the ladies but still it’s really bright for my week at work.  I love it.

I also did this.  Amanda over at Faery Ink has a challenge on which I think I am still in time for LOL!!! Anyhoo it was Mardi Gras and I wanted to do a Day of the dead mask so this is what I came up with.  I used Aurora wings stamp and my promarkers to colour in.  But funny I haven’t coloured for a while and I am so out of practise.  The calendar is a freebie from Live Laugh Rowe.  It has the wonderful quote on it and it shall be going on my note board at work.

On the crochet I am still stash busting away a little sneaky peak. The challenge is over here at Linda's Crafty Corner

San Francisco

I’m telling ya San Francisco is the hardest word to spell lol..  It’s one of those words where you have to think every letter LOL!!

Anyhooo this is my Smash* page I am entering over at Saturated Canary’s Challenge..  It’s really exciting because the challenge is to find an image which inspires a song..  Well Violet is such a hippy chick.  I was flicking though my SC images and there were a few and I had a few songs, you know as you do, I was singing my way though, then when violet came along I started singing this song by Scott McKenzie or Mama’s and Papa’s, although I do prefer Scott's version of Are You Going to San Francisco’

Just Whizzing By

Urgh this weather is totally wretched… Totally! Anyhooo as I sit here listening to All Angels I thought I would blog my latest creation. I coloured up this Teddy Bo Image with Ranger Distress Pens..    It’s a little thank you to a little boy who gave me a little pot of hyacinths for Christmas.. 

This is a close up if you hadn’t gathered already LOL!! I am not sure about those little gemy thingy’s I got from The Ribbon Girl..  And let me tell you The Ribbon Girl has a fantastic service.  I ordered one day and received the next.. Lovely jubbly..

Anyhooo I want to have a quick chatty about distress markers and what I think of mine.. Like a mini review.  Ok I like them and I don't like them.

I don't like them because;
I’m heavy handed and they kill the paper when I am blending
The nibs get all weird and lumpy I am always pulling fibres from the tips
The fine tip is too fine
The colours are hard to work out

I like them because;
One pen can produce an array of different shades
You can blend them wet or dry
You can get nice lines
There are lots of colours to play with
They are permanent until you wet them
The colours can be really vibrant.

Here is what I am working on.  (Using Promarkers <3) It’s Saturated Canary challenge you know all top secret stuff lol… Gosh that’s a huge smudge there on the shoe PAH!

Well today I am proud of myself in a totally different way than being crafty.  My proud moment for today is that for 5 days I have blogged, and for 5 days I have shared things with people who I don’t know and would like to get to know.  My proud moment is getting myself out there and stop being shy or doubtful that my work is terrible and no one would really want to see it.  So that’s what I am proud of getting involved..

I’m a winner

Would you believe that me yes me actually won something.  Well I did and I am so excited..

I did a challenge before Christmas called Monochrome Christmas at Without Words

And Guess what………  I winned, I winned lol.  I never won anything before.  I was so excited I had to call my mum who was at work and tell her, sad I know! lol…  Anyhooo so I have to pick out 2 digi stamps from Rick St Dennis how I do that I don’t know check out his stuff LOL!!

Anyhooo so what I am proud of today is myself for actually taking the plunge and entering a challenge that I don’t usually.. I hope I get a bug to enter more..  I think it’s a good way for me to get out there and share.  Challenges are fun and also if you are lucky you could win something..  Although its not about the winning for me (it’s nice to win though lol) it’s about the joining in.

What are you proud of today?

The Rain Is Falling!

But yet I feel quite contented at the moment..  I popped out to the shops today, which was nice but exhausting, but I am going to do just a little bit every day, until my strength returns to me..

Over at Deep Ocean Challenge Blog they are having their first challenge of the year and are doing something super simple.   Anyhoo they asked to share your crafting space and technically mine is everywhere..  This is my little desk I work on.  It took me ages to find something appropriate.  My lounge is like 15ft x 12ft so I needed somewhere that can be packed away.  This does perfectly.  Behind that is my draws where all my bits and bobs that I use are to hand.  My promarkers are in the tub with the big shot on that all sitting on my printer.  I’m hoping to get a little console table or something to put it away on..  In my bedroom there is a cupboard dedicated to all my crafting stuffs. Also I have a sewing unit where I do my quilting.  When its out it takes up my whole house, when it’s put away you would never know I crafted. In footstool I have all my papers and I have a bag with all my crocheting stuff.. PHEW!! And then there is my mum’s knitting stuff which she keeps in her footstool and down the side of her chair LOL!!! *SIGH*  Though I think if we had a bigger house it would still be all over the place, you know what they say, an empty shelf is a lonely one bwahahahhaa ok that’s just me then lol..

This is what I am proud of today.  It’s a Faery Ink Image.  Amanda has added some fabby new images over at her shop Faery Ink.  Amanda is such an awesome girl someone that I can really aspire too.  Her blog is so warm and inviting but she can’t leave anything alone and is revamping it again lol She is worse than me ha ha ha ha!!

What are you proud of today?

A bit of pluggin

Well as you do when you can’t do much other than sneeze and cough you start to surf..  So I found a few things that may be of interest..

Check out these guys, I get most of my art supplies from here and they have just put AQUA Markers down to £1.17 and Promarkers are now £1.25.  I think I now have every colour in the Promarkers, I want to start collecting the FLEX markers now..

Inky Chicks have a brand new challenge blog going on in January, I might skip over and join in..

Well what a blooming week, I’m pleased to see this one go.  I’m almost at the end of my christmas card list, YIP-FRIGGEN-EE..  Christmas prezzies are all sent off to there destinations and to go under the tree, which mum put up today..  It actually looks quite pretty.. I kinda like it..

So here I am with my latest card.

I’m entering this one at Anything Goes at Sweet Stamping Christmas.  This is there very first challenge for their new Christmas challenge blog.  They are also offering Candy for new followers.

I am also entering this for the Monochrome Christmas at Without Words. Monochrome is exactly that.  I used promarkers in all kinds of blue shades oh and a blending pen which is clear.

Digi Stamp Saturated Canary

It’s Been a LAWGGGG Time..

Since I entered a challenge, But I thought well what the heck.  Things are finally slowing down here.  I sent off three Christmas parcels today which is wonderful.  I also finished my commissioned cards which is also a big thing.  I have a little bit of quilting to do on a gift then bind it and that’s done.  So I decided to actually have some fun.

Coops posted on her blog The Ribbon and Trim challenge over at Crafts and Me and that is where I am going to enter this card.

This was so different, and nothing like I usually do. But I wanted something traditional yet modern and soft.

I used my Derwent watercolour pencils, to colour and paint the image.  I used some stickles for the added sparkle which you can’t actually see due to my naff picture taking and some polar white flower soft to add some soft 3D snow.

Someone Special

I have chosen my little doggie poggie Rosie Pickles for this one..  I don't really have a special someone so the dog is the nearest thing to my translation anyway..
She has a character that matches mine, a little bit dim, a little bit laid back and lots of crazy.  I fall over her most days.  She follows me where ever I go, to the bathroom, to the kitchen, to bed, to get the mail.  She helps with the housework, the ironing, the cooking, the laundry, she chastises the boys when they argue, she chases the birds and barks at every little teeny thing (GRRR)  She likes cuddles and she is very spoiled and demanding, but saying that she knows who the boss is..  She listens without commenting, and she is great to dry your eyes with when you are feeling a little tearful..  The best thing about her, she is always consistent in her ways. To me she is my best friend and I love her to bits that crazy dog…

Washi Tape

Hello readers, I hope you are well on this fine Thursday..  So over at Smash*-aholics I am on day 2, while everyone else is on probably day 12 LOL!!! Those of you who know me know for a fact that I am never the “hare”..

So Washi Tape..  I don’t like it..  I am not really seeing the point, however saying that it is pretty.  Maybe because I am so organised?  I just can’t rip a piece of anything off and stick it in lol..  For me it has to be uniform and uncluttered.  Anyhooooooo less of my therapy session.

My interpretation on Washi Tape.  I absolutely love this stamp too I cant remember where I got her from, and its the first time I have used her..  I tried out my greys and funny I do like her grey but I also want her to go on some candles, so I need to really colour her with colour and see how she comes out..  As you can see I used the word solace, its my absolute favourite word.  It has so much meaning for me and I do find solace in many things I do..  I wrote a little verse, it makes no sense maybe to you but for me I know exactly what it means…

All About Me

Ok I am pretty naff at talking about me so I decided to give this page a little bit of a twist.  I love this image by Saturated Canary and her cheeky little face reminds me of how I can be..  And the hair wooooooo my hair all curls and bubbles.. I hope its ok because I am more of an organised smasher rather than a smash it in lol….

The Bling for the Bling it on is the butterflies and the hair has little liquid pearls and the earrings are blingy too lol

Monochromatic

I think that's the word.  Anyhoo I had to look this word up to see what it meant.  by all accounts it means of the same colour.  I could have go that wrong though.  So I used greys.  I really liked using greys, but this doesn't feel very christmassy.  I even added some white stickles to add some kind of glitz..

Winter Wonderland Candy Cane

Robin Redbreast

Hello readers I have joined in for this weeks challenge over at Winter Wonderland. Kate asked for a robin to be put on the card.  So here is mine. I’m not very creative yet with the winter theme.  I dunno why.  It feels like I am struggling..  OH well!!

This is card number 2 for my card stash, I know I wont be running around like a loony this year trying to get everything done.

Very First……

I am a challenge virgin and I am going to enter this card over at Winter Wonderland..  I think its an amazing idea and have been following the blog for some time now..  Anyway The challenge is called It Takes Two

I used Prima Pencils to colour in the picture and fine pens for outlining…  Actually the stamp was a freebie from a magazine.  I dunno who made the stamps but it looks lovely and I had saved it to use for this coming Christmas.
