Hoo are you #13

1. What is your least favorite thing to clean in your house?

OMGoshly, I was just moaning about this yesterday.  My bathroom is my pet hate.  As you know I have 2 boys who stink and can't pee straight.  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR it's a man thing I know.  I mean why can't they get it in the loo?  Just don't get me started LOL!!!  DISGUSTING!!  So yes anyhooo, I hate cleaning that room.

2. What color of shirts do you wear the most?
Oh I am an any colour girl.  Most of my wardrobe is a rainbow of pink shades.. Girly I know..

3. Do you have long hair or short hair?
Well there is a story about my hair.  Would you like me to share?  Tough I'm gonna anyway.  So my hair is my pride and joy simply becasue it's my bigest pain in the bum.  I have really curly hair which tends to frizz out like a mofo if left alone. Anyhoo for years and years I had it long because it was easier just to bung up on to of my head.  But last year I had finally had enough of all the maintanence, I mean to straighten it out would take me nearly 2 hours, what a waste of time!...

Off I went to the hairdressers.  First cut a 4 inch cut, second cut a 6 inch cut and so on until I had a total of 17 inches cut off my locks.  I did it slowly so I could get used to it. I'm off to the hairdressers today to have some colours put in it and hopefully a new style I can maintain.

Yes new hair do.  You can just see the red.. (Blimey my teeth look huge!)

4. What time do you usually eat dinner?

I prefer to have dinner around 5 o'clock.  Simply when the boys come home from school they start eating, so I thought well why not just give them their dinner earlier.  Weekends we have anytime..

5. What is your favorite dessert?

Oh, well erm.......  Just one? LOL!  Ok I have to say Granny Apple Caramel and Custard.  All that sticky yummy stodge..  YUM YUM YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM........
Thank you to leslie for allowing me to play x

OH For the love of vintage stuff, you will love it here go check out the site, but don't forget to come back.

Ok welcome back!! You know of all the things we did whilst we were away this was my absolute fave..  It's one place all you vintagey guys will die happy in.  I mean nostalgia was spot on.  So mum and I gazed, cooed and oooed and to be honest if my 17 year old Autisic kiddo loved it there is no denying it was fab..  There was stuff I had never seen and we could touch it.  A lot of the stuff though was behind glass, mainly to protect it from clumsy fingers like me.  We were in there hours.  Sonny didn't like it he said it was scary.  I can understand why, some of the figures spoke and there were street noises and even smells to transport you to that time and place.  I must admit I did get weirded out on the china doll collection, mum too, we kinda walked really quickly through that bit..

On the outside of the building it looked really small and pokey, stepping into the museum wasn't much bigger, but once we had paid and gone through that little gate we were all transported in to Victorian England.  It was huge and the street was really life size.  We browsed all the shops and though I can bearly remember my name half the time, mum was remembering little trinkets that she had seen at her grans house..  AMAZING!!! So let me take you through a little bit of what we experienced.

Here we are at the local town forge.  Bill is happily working away.  All the tools are authentic from the time.  We could smell the fire and hear the clinking sounds of hammering.

Outside the dressmakers little Miss Janey was in her pram choking on the fumes from the forgery, waiting for her mum.

Inside the post office Mrs Clarke is talking to Mr Postfield about the awesome party they had going on last night. And also advising him to get some more lighting in there.

I remember these jars. They still have them in some sweet shops now. I remember some of the tins.  My grandaddy used to keep his nuts and bolts in them lol.  AWWWW Little Frances is deciding what sweeties to have..

Meanwhile next door in the chemist, Frances's sister Charlotte is buying some new soaps.

Master Charlie sits outside waiting paitently for Miss Charlotte to return so he can escort her along the road.  Oh look there! Naughty Master Edward is peering though the window, obviously up to some mischief.  I bet he is about to prank the little Miss Frances?

Further along the street Miss Abigail is left outside the general stores.

They sold everything in the general store from fruit to brooms.

Drooling over that loaf of bread and all of the cakes in the window.

Now Charlie is arounf 6ft and that there is a genuine Penny Farthing.  That was a smaller one, they can come in different sizes..  I dunno about you but I hate heights so you would not get me on one.  Plus I think it would buckle.  LOL!!  The funny looking man on the right of Charlie was a really interesting guy.  He was a nostagia buff.  He was the one explaining about the bike.

Those Kids where chaos, I tell you, that poor nurse maid was rushed off her feet.  They were everywhere ha ha ha ha ha!!
The bath was real and bubbling and smelt delish.

After a long wonderful day we trooped along to the pub for a sing a long with Mr Thoms.  Luckily he didn't notice that nobody knew the words or the tune, we just sang knees up mother brown anyway..

So we ordered 4 pints of the best from Sally the Barmaid.  Hamish looked lovingly at Sally, only he decided that the pie in the cabinet looked tastier and ordered one to go with his pint.

We waved this family off, as they were off to devon for the war had begun.

Weirdly, this reminds me of my nan. Even weirder I was remembing a lot of the old decor.  Mum had burst by this time with all the things she was remembering.  Bless her! x

London had these all over the place. Dug deep into the ground and covered with all the dirt from the hole.  I bet though it was warm down there and mighty scary.   East London had the worse bombings.  Thats where we orignate from.  My Nan was born in the sound of the Bow Bells.  My Grandad was born in Stepney Green, and my Mum was born in Forest Gate.  Obviously they had to move as there was nothing left in london.  So they moved into Essex, into the tin houses, which I was also brought up in.  You see I remember these.  Lots of families still had one even in the 70's.  Mainly used as sheds but they were still around.
Mum remembers them really well and she remembers playing in them.

LMAO and still to this day we are not ashamed of our undies hanging on the line..

I hope you enjoyed this post.  If you are ever down that way it is a must see.  There is so much stuff to see.  Definately worth a visit.

Have a great day xxx

The Big Knit

How do lovelies. This is just a run through note, which goes kinda like this ~~>

Today when I was stalking my facebook account, I saw that Surf Jewels had written a message about innocent hats.  Being the nosy frog face that I am I just had to check this out.  I'm blinking glad I did.  It's a charity thing for age uk.

Not that I am not a charitable person, I am, but I would rather give things than money, becasue then at least you know that the things are going to be used and how they are going to be used.  So I've signed myself up (I also printed my mum a copy of the pattern *grin* while she is at work and don't know yet! I shall just sneak the stash, needles and pattern on her craft box) for The Big Knit which has been kindly supported by Innocent Smoothies.

If you are a knitter, it would be great if you could join in too.

Thanks to Surf Jewels for bringing this to my attention xx

Hoo are you 12#

1. Do you prefer to write in cursive or print?

I have the most stupid writing ever.  It starts off in print and as i get into my flow it goes cursive.  So i have to say that I am a bit of both.

2. Do you prefer to shop online or go out and actually go to the stores?

It depends what I am buying.  I prefer to shop online simply because I hate shopping.  But for fabrics and crafty stuff I like to see and feel what I am buying.

3. Would you prefer to go camping or stay in a motel?

Camping is a big no no.  I am a girl of comfort, I love my creature comforts. So defo a hotel.

4. Do your prefer going to the movies or staying home to watch one?

I watch a lot of films. I do like the cinema, specially ones with a lot of special effects.  You just can't get that at home.  My nearest nice theatre is about 25 miles away so cinema is not  always the case.  Again I am a bit of both.  I wish they would bring the prices down to make the cinema a lot less of a purse pincher.

5. Do you prefer a shower or a bath?

Oh I have to say shower.  I love the feel of clean and refreshing once you get out.  Although a bath can be really relaxing.  I can't stay in the bath for ages becasue I get bored lol..

Thank you again Leslie for allowing me to play.

Teeny Weeny Lemon Squeezy ..

Ahhh today I am going to tell you all about Babbacombe Model Village.  Whoever knows me, knows I have an attention span of a gnat, so walking round this was really quick.  It wasn't for Charlie-poo-bum, he was side tracked by the railway,  but Sonny absolutely loved it.

The place is huge with all kinds too see.  There are buttons to push so you can find out about that little piece of design.  It's very interactive.  I saw lots of pointing fingers there.  I guess for younger children it's quite boring but older ones it's very exciting becasue there is so much to see.

There was a little challenge which the kiddles had to find the eggs to win a prize.  Which I think was good because at least the children had to look everywhere.  But on the other hand I think they could have been so busy looking for the eggs that they wern't looking at anything else.  HMMMM!!  There was one egg that Sonny couldn't find and while Char and I sat for a drinky he went off and had another look .   I followed the 'where's wally' (also known as Waldo, wally just sounds nicer lol!) challenge, which was not as easy as it looked until..................

Yup there he was propped up on his walking stick...  LOL!! I did like that, but then I like Where's Wally anyway.

Of course the gift shop was my fave.  I brought a fairy there, the one that's tattooed on my leg.  I will have to snap that up to show you.  All in all the cafe was very clean and welcoming, the staff were very nice and happy.  Which is always a bonus.

Overall I give this a 10/10.  There was so much to see here and it was all nicely kept.  And it was very clean..

I must say that it was very well laid out.  The pathways were nice and wide and easy to get down.  There were a few sets of toilets and snack bars.  Yeah this place was huge.  But me being me, I can't understand why people would want to stare at a teeny weeny minitures for too long..  Anyhooo I did enjoy it, I think Char enjoyed it too and loved the railway of course.

At the beginning there was a huge layout of the Eastenders set.  Char nearly wet his pant's in excitement here.  He absolutely loves Eastenders.  This is a little snippet, I mean if you do visit then you don't want it all spoiled by me and my pictures.  All the cast were there and Charlie was naming them all.  Sonny was assisting him by trying to get the names as well.  I was impressed that they knew all the characters so well..

This was impressive, (hums football theme music) every seat was taken by a little mini.  Of course I was looking for Wally LOL!!

I want to live here.  Don't you think it's just cute, how they mini-size everything?

Just incase you never got to see the real one and see the egg there sneaking up against the rocks?....

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! The one lying down reminded me of me..

Yah you are not seeing things, they even had a nudest beach.  This was my fave, it really made me chuckle..

A working farm, with egg.  It's amazing, I think.  I felt like a giant.  Gullivier springs to mind!

Hotel Cimon & Babbacombe Cliff Railway

Hello all I'm back from our little 2010 Devon holiday.  I must say even though I have been really tired from all the exploration, I do also feel refreshed and relaxed and ready for the new school year.

We really did enjoy our visit.  This was our first time we had been to Devon.  I did notice a big distinction between the two counties.  When we visited Looe in Cornwall, it is much more traditional, the cornish seem to be very territorial.  They pride themselves on everything being made in Cornwall.  In Devon I did notice that they did like to label things 'Devonshire' but it wasn't as potent.  That's what I love about Cornwall.

This year we decided to stay in Devon.  We stayed in a small Bed and Breakfast called Hotel Cimon, (we can't decide whether or not it was SI-MON or CI-MON, we pronounce it the cinnamon way lol)..which was in Torquay.  The hotel was situated amoungst lots of other hotels and very central to everything.  It was a very short drive to anywhere, which made it very convienient.  It was very clean and spacious, although I will say that our bathroom was a little bit small, or it could be that Sonny and I were a tad to big?  The hosts were very relaxed and friendly as were all the staff.  The breakfasts in the morning were outstanding and no one left the table hungry.  They set up a 3 course breakfast system, fruit, cereals, breads, cooked, toast, pancakes.  I never tried the cooked, but mum and Sonny did and they said it was absolutely delish.

The hotel had a small bar, with a pool table, and plenty of games for the children to play in the just off in a small lounge area.  They did offer snacks which were extra, but great value for money.  The swimming pool wasn't huge but enough for a last dip of the day.  Also the joys of a smaller pool was I didn't lose sight of the boys.  Charlie and Sonny made use of the pool at the end of each day and were happy enough to play until the sun went down.

Overall I would give this hotel a 10/10 for everything and if I was going back to torquay I would definately stay there again.

We got up to so much I didn't want to write a bible, so I have broken it down in to visits and will show you them when I blog.  Today is Babbacombe Cliff Railway.  Blimey it was high.  I hate heights and with a vengance, so I never took any pic's.  Supermum was the photographer.

It was built in something like 1926 and takes you down to Oddicombe beach.  Trust me when I say, you don't want to walk that hill LOL!!!!

Oddicombe beach, was a funny looking beach.  I never have seen red sand, but when I looked the rock was red too.  It's a very small beach, good for eyeballing the kids and not losing them. It was also a very clean beach from what I saw.  You could hire, huts, deckchairs, wetsuits, boats etc.  Sonny was upset this day as it wasn't one of our nicest days and he didn't bring his swimming trunks.  But he did cheer himself up a lot when he found a snorkle and mask.  I must point out I did say he could go in for a swim if he wanted to do it butt nekid.  He declined *BIG TOOTHY DEVILISH GRIN*

Me hiding behind my Charlie.  Grrrrr @ heights!!

1, What are some of your favorite summer activities?

Well what can I say to this.. ermmm loads.  By law I absolutely hate the heat of the summer, but on the other hand I love the weather.  Makes no sense at all but I know what I mean lol..  Favourite activities of mine is traveling to different places and being able to stroll along the beach paddling as you go.

2. What is your favorite flower?

Erm I don't think I have a favourite flower.  I have never really taken much interest in them to be honest.  Though I did buy some peonies a few weeks back which looked fabulously splendid in my little jug.

3. What is your favorite meal of the day?

Oh I am terrible, at meal times.  Breakfast is usually skipped then lunch is a quick bite of anything that passes.  So I have to say dinner time is my favourite, if i have to pick one.

4. How much time do you spend on the computer each day?

Ok confession time.  I used to spend many hours on the computer like all day and night.  Then all of a sudden a penny dropped and I thought wow how much of my life have I wasted.  So now I come online mainly to check emails, read feeds and blog hop.  so I would say about an hour a day give or take.  and sometimes I don't even boot it up.

5. Do you have any pets?

Yes I do.  I have my baby a Jack Russell Terroist called Rosie Pickles.  She is such a wonderfully good dog.  Although she is a yapper at times.  But all in all she is a really good dog.
Thank you Leslie for the chance to play.

♪♫ Mr Big Shot, who do you think you are? ♪♫

Happy Saturday everyone..  What a blooming funny ole week?  The weather has been up and down like a pair of whore's draws *snort* ( I so love that phrase!)...... Ahem! So yes my week has been really strangeish..   Even though I have been like super dooper busy keeping the twitlets entertained, I've managed to get so much crafting done.  I know, how? I have no idea?..

Wooooot! Yes I finally finished my throw. (Pattern can be found here)  Though it's like half the size I thought, simply my calculations of wool was really off..  Anyhooo for a first try, I learned my mistakes.

I finished off Archie the Scottie. (Pattern used with permission from Allsorts) Learned some more things here, like all about getting your seam allowance right is critical.

♪♫ Mr Big Shot, who do you think you are? ♪♫  Yes I've invested in one of these.  Mum has already stolen it..  I had been looking for a cutter for ages.  I didnt want anything flash and complicated.  Pecfectomundo!! ( No I dont actually think that is a word.)

♫ I ain't got nobody ♪ Yes a pair of legs ..

" Do you think I have alapecia? "
" No dear I haven't finished your hair yet? "
*Rolls eyes*

This is Flora, (mum named her I don't think she has anything to do with the marge) she goes with my mum's flopsie.  This is the first rag doll I have ever made, and it took me about half a day, and that was the hair that took up most of that.  Once I had worked out the pattern it was really easy. I did unpick a few times, but that's all about learning what not to do.  I do really need to learn how to do doll hair.  I am naff at it..  I loved the legs I think that's the best part of Flora!  I don't think I did too bad this week, considering I have been out most of it lol.

I'm The whole family (except super Char) are totally addicted to supernatural.  We are on season 4 already, though I am sure I missed half of it, I just have that feeling. Once we have picked mum up from work we have our dinner then settle down for an evening of supernatural.  I can't stop watching.  The really funny thing is that you know whats coming and you know what is going to happen, yet we still watch on lol..  It's been along time since I was addicted to something.  I think the last thing was Angel or Charmed.  Yeah I am a fantasy geek.  I love it!

Anyhooooo time to do some laundry before I go off blog hopping.

Have a great Saturday xx

1. What is your natural hair color?

Dark reddy brown , with a few grey strands.  I have been quite lucky that I'm nearly 40 and I have only a few greys.  I used to colour my hair a dark brown cos I can go really red in the summer.  Now I just leave it au natural.  It's in the best condition it's been in for years.

2. Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets?
ERRRRR I can't really say.  I have seen a sunset.  Living by the beach you can watch the sun sink into the water.  It's pretty amazing.  I have also watched the moon sneak up this way too.  As for sunrise.  Well no I can't comment on that lol..

3. What is the first thing you notice about people?
Teeth.  I am really terrible for teeth.  I mean I don't have a perfect set....  Oh wait I do lol..  So anyone who hasn't I always feel compeled to tell them, although I never do.  I am a people watcher by nature.  I notice everything and that I am really bad with.  Not that I am being horrid, I just notice.  I notice a hair out of place..  Maybe I am too judgemental this way????  I try not to notice things but I do *SIGH*

4. Do you prefer talking or texting on your cell phone?
Neither.  I hate talking on the phone.  I much prefer to do it face to face.  Texting is easier than talking, but email it's my choice of communication.
5. What size of shoes do you wear?
I think I am part hobbit.  Not that my feet are hairy (checks for foot hair)  Just they are really wide.  I am generally in a size 8, but I have so much trouble buying shoes because of the width of my feet.  Mum also has wide feet..

Thank you Leslie for giving me the chance to play.  And thank you to those of you who came by to read or comment I really appreciate it xxxx

blinky bloody blimey!

Well blinky bloody blimey! What is going on with this fricken weather?  One minute it is as hot as hell, then it's raining, then it's humid like a mo fo, then it's stiffling hot again, then raining.....  Ok you get where I am going here it's been changeable..  To tell you the truth it's getting right on my tit's..  Ok moan over lol, I'm happy to just be moaning at the weather...]

SOOOOOO Happy Sunday from me to you.  How's you day been?  So far mine has been a little to busy for my relaxing sunday.  I've done the housework and laundry..  I've baked 2 batches of cookies and I'm bliggy bloggin and it's not even noon yet.  That's a wonderful day ha ha ha!!

Yesterday Sonny and I ventured into Colchester it was really bad there, weather-wise.  I mean the humidity was so bad that both he and I were just melting.  I found this little fabric shop online called fabric8 (yes indeed it took me a while to work out it was fabricate *SIGH*).  Anyhoo!! Sonny and I went for a visit, while we were in Colchester.  I forgot my camera, but you would have all been jealous, I was looking at everything, I just needed a few more sets of eyes.  Sonny pulled up a chair and happily sat melting while I browsed, browsed and had a little browse.  There were so many unusual fabrics.  I was in fabric heaven, well actually fabric 8 lol..  If you are passing there it's worth a pop in.  I will say the fabrics are a little expensive, but they are dreamy.

There's my little blanket, little being the operative word *grins*  Well I am just doing the edging, and then I shall share with you..  It has come up smaller than I expected, but then I couldn't get Debbie's wool here so I had to substitute.  Even so for my first crochted project I am pretty pleased with myself.  In january I couldn't crochet at all, but now I have learned the basics.  I still have tension problems at the begining of my projects.  But I thnk that comes with practise.

LOL!!! This is our little family.  I picked up from Dedham.  Arn't they just the cutest.  We have named them all of course after us.  The 2 larger ones are still mummy and daddy and the 4 little ones are from left to right:  Nanny Tod, Charlie, Daddy, Mummy, Paula and Sonny lol!! We are mad yes it is true.

Well I'm off to get the washing back in before the rain starts *SIGGGGGGHHHHHH*

Have a great Sunday!
