Mermy on the Rocks

How have you all been, spiffy I hope?  Today It’s my turn to inspire your creative fires.  So I know you all get excited when Amanda does a new release and so I thought I would inspire you today with your fantasy dream is Mermaid on the Rocks..  Who doesn't want to be a mermy with all that flowy hair and swishy tail which glimmers and sparkles in the water.

Anyhooo I digress, I went into a little tangent there…

Here she is …….  <insert drum roll here>

mermyontherocks1stjune

mermyontherocks1stjune2

mermyontherocks1stjune3

So for this mix I used:

  • Promarkers to colour
  • Noor Designs goldfish bowl template and bubble template
  • Bling, ribbons and lace from stash
  • Acetate clear
  • Sandy modelling paste
  • Millions, maybe trillions of 3d foam squares
  • stickles galore.

So I cut out the bowl template, which folds in half..  I cut out the middle of half the bowl and added some layering which is hard to see but she is, I promise bwahahahaha!! I popped the clear acetate on the hole i just cut to make it for the glass.  I added some sandy textured modelling paste on to the backing papers with the bubble template.  I layered up the front and back with the gazillions of 3d foam squares.

So pop over to Amanda at Faery Ink and grab yourself this little girl..

Happy creating xxx

Faery Ink 12th Birthday

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to youuuuu
Happy Birthday dear Faery Ink -ah
Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuu (and many more)

Wowzers! 12 years old.  That’s a lot of years to still be in the graphic community.  I remember when Amanda first burst on to the scene.  She and I were in the country graphics community.  I couldn't draw and neither could she  Amanda was amazing at drawing and bringing a totally new concept to the graphic community.  I remember her site theme had a big black and white checks everywhere which is her theme tune ‘Alice in Wonderland’  if you hadn't caught on.  But you know I stalked followed her through many different times and trends.  Some happy, some sad but all in all very creative.  Our friendship has always been an internet one and we are friends who do or don’t talk but on my part I am always there if she needs me.

So here we are in 2015 Manda has moved in to the digi stamp community and hello here is one of her UH-MAZING images that I loved colouring.  do you like it? Do ya? DO ya?  D D D DOOO YA!!?

BubblequeenfaeryFIbloghop

I am kinda girly but I do like an edge to my things.  I love fantasy and as you can see Amanda does too.  You know I think Amanda has everyone's tastes at heart.  I know that she loves to draw darker images so I colour them all in pink lol!! ...

And GUESS WHAT!!!! <Insert drum roll ... >  Amanda has been generous enough to allow me give this digi stamp to one lucky commenter.  Oh YEAH!  How fabulous is that??  Fabby indeed, I should say lol!

bubblequeenfaeryFIbloghop2

The image that I used is called The Bubble Fairy Queen which can be purchased over at Amanda’s shop Faery Ink.  But one lucky winner could be skipping home with this just for commenting on this post.  I chose this one because I love the way that the girl is looking at her friend, which of course is pink PAH!!  Well come on what's not to like, in fact, I think I would like to see this girl in grey tones too or dark reds...  Anyhoo This is definitely one of my faves, Amanda did ask me to choose one, I think she was being kinda selfish because I have many, many favourites.  So let me shut up chatting and you let continue your hopping or if  just joining in, make sure you check out the original blog hop post below:

Don’t forget to comment on this post down below for your chance to win this cute digi from Faery Ink…

For more chances of winning why not hop over and see my DT sisters and see what they have up for grabs!!

So Long Yesterday

Hello my lovelies.  The day is wonderfully bright.  I love this time of year.  The first cuts of grass and the birdies tweeting away or in my case the seagulls squawking.  But how lovely is spring?

So the last two weeks we ate chocolate and hot cross buns and enjoyed a restful time away from work.  Oh no wait that was just me, everyone else did what they did best lol!

I finished a few projects and started a new one which I am keeping to myself until I have finished.  The one I did finish I am really proud of.  I did take forever, because darlings that’s how I roll – slowly hahahaha!

CCK-Solongyesterday

So here is my pride of joy for now which I love.  I did not rush, but then I never do.  So my list of ingredient's I will tell you as I go along.

I used a blank canvas from my local store and covered it ripped pieces of pastel coloured stash paper.  I spritzed with some shimmer paints very very lightly and I then used Tim Holtz tissue paper (new love item) to shove on and pasted it on with a pva glue/water mixture.

solongyesterdayclup

I used So long yesterday digi from Ching-Chou Kuik who you can find at etsy.  I used a mixture of promarkers and copics to colour her in.  I couldn’t list them all as I tend to go over with many shades.  I used some tulle to make the bow and on the edge is a glass bead thingy again from stash.

solongyesterdaybutton

She looks a little washed out, my fault on taking the picture.  I got her from my local store she is part of the Mirabelle collection from santoro.  I think you can pic up these anywhere really.

solongyesterdayflowers

Flowers are from my stash garden and I usually get all my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Solongyesterdaysenti

I love this sentiment.  I found it online and it doesn’t seem to have an author??  I printed this up from my canon using word.  I practised a few times to get it right then I went ahead and printed on pretty paper stash edging with distress ink.  (I really need to get vintage photo)

sonlongyesterdaybutter

Butterfly, Organza, and meshy stuff from stash – I can’t remember where from but it was online.

I am entering this over at Faery Ink Facebook Challenge which is all about pastels.  I’m Lovin It *sang McDonalds style*

Outlander

download

After serving as a British Army nurse in World War II, Claire Randall is enjoying a second honeymoon in Scotland with husband Frank, an MI6 officer looking forward to a new career as an Oxford historian. Suddenly, Claire is transported to 1743 where her freedom and life are threatened. To survive, she marries Jamie Fraser, a strapping Scots warrior with a complicated past and a disarming sense of humour. A passionate relationship ensues, and Claire is caught between two vastly different men in two inharmonious lives……

Dot, dot, dot indeed..  All I am gonna say for this is watch it, but get past the second episode..  I usually dont watch this kind of stuff, it’s totally mum’s thing, but it’s realllly good.  It defenately sucked me in and look out there are a few hunks in this too.  Yeah look at this hunk

Love is always around

I was sitting there staring at my Son, who was happily munching on a tube of pringles when I suddenly had an epiphany – Yes it’s so true I had this super hic up and my eyes did that spinny thing.  Anyhooo moving swiftly along.  Art does not come natural to me and I have to work at it very hard so when I do the urge to create something spectacular I have to get jiggy with it.

So for this months inspirational post from me <Insert Drum Roll Here>  Yep! You got it, I made a knitting needle holder for my mum…  The only problem is that she loves it so much she isn’t using it <Insert confusion> Oh well! The recipe is below how I did this.

50 Shades of Boredom

imagesYeah so me and my BFF Emma have both read the book 50 shades of grey and decided that because the book was so literally terrible we should see if the film was any better, and also have our own opinion on the facts of the film.

The credits roll and wooohoo the film is off to a roaring start.  OH!! Oh no wait is that Emma sleeping – I look across and there she is with her eyes open but I do believe she is sleeping.  How does one do that?..  Maybe her eyes dried out..  My goodness we are only 5 minutes into the film…

I really should not compare anything to the book, my imagination is far to wild for the likes of Christian and Ana.  He had thin lips – she was perfect.. But his lips were creepy lol!  Also I was waiting for the spark, maybe I am old and sinister but there was not spark, no charisma, no va va voom.  I just didn’t feel it.

As my swollen eyes glanced around the theatre at the other 3 strangers in there, two people are walking out.  Is the film that bad?  Yeah! Really! Yeah!  I am still trying to figure out the story.  I got the whole boy meets girl thing and for a while there I was waiting for a wolf to bound on to the screen but then I realised this wasn't twilight bwahahahaha!

For twilight fans this is a diabolical story of  Edward and Bella also known as Christian and Ana.. *SIGH* <Insert vom bucket here>  I mean, I am one for giving everything a second thought, I am a Libra, it’s natural to me to balance up the pro’s and the consssssss..  But honestly, please go see it but only if you need sleep not for entertainment.  Also see it if you want to join in the conversations at work.  I have honestly seen more action in a Disney film.

Verdict is…  if you must watch it then take lots of popcorn so when you get bored you can munch your way through..  Lot’s of lip locking… Lots of muff hair, does no one own a pube trimmer? All that money and you would think he would invest in a trimmer – blimey it would put a yeti to shame.   oh and Emma just said that Ana had a mole under her armpit.  You see what happens when one gets bored, we become critical ha ha ha ha.  Please Christian stop by the beauty salon and get yours and Ana’s muffs trimmed.  But then Emma just said maybe they had to have extra furry muffs for the camera Surprised smile  Does this mean they had muff extensions?  Emma also wants to add in this part (whose is this blog anyway) that if that’s the worst it can get…..  I am not even going to type what she said ….

So let me know your 50 Shades of Grey thoughts..

This is the sadder part of the story, I just have to watch the next ones, just for a laugh……

TI2

So I picked ‘Guilty of Sweet Love’ from the sweet tooth collection and I don’t think she came out too bad at all.  I chose Distress/image/patterned paper (TINGOOOOOOO!!!!!!!) for this creation and the quote is a printable from livelaughrowe

 TI1

I used promarkers and stuff from stash to make a mini wall calendar.

I hope you like it x

Cirque Du Soleil

kooza

Mum and I were so lucky to go see this.  Seeing Cirque Du Soleil has been on my bucket list for a life time.  I have seen it on the telly and just would have loved to have gone live.  My wish came true and although I wasn’t feeling my best, I still enjoyed it more than 100%.   It has been the only show I can recall that has left me wanting to see more.  It was amazing.  Unfortunately I can’t share any pictures as you wasn’t allowed any photography.  But I can give you a few words to sum up the evening.  Breath taking, heart stopping, magical, enchanting, hilarious, moving,.  Mum said it was fantastic, wonderful, excellent, best thing ever..  I have to agree.  The atmosphere made the dome swell and when I say my heart was in my mouth on more than one occasion it was true.  If you ever do something in your time then try and do this.

rahselfie

Of course the selfie at the Albert Hall.  The weekend was definitely a weekend of firsts.  I stayed in a Holiday Inn in Shepperton, which was very clean and tidy, I slept through the afternoon trying to sleep off a groggy head, that’s not like me at all.  I went to Prezzo and had my first Italianio meal.  I visited the Royal Albert Hall and went to see Kooza.  I visited Covent Garden and watched the street performers.  So for me a truly Magical time.

For more pictures on Kooza search in your browser for Kooza LOL!!!

Have fun xx

World Record….

Drum roll the worlds slowest reader…  Ok so I don’t know about you guys but if I get in bed and start reading three lines later and my kindle is stuck to my face..  I think the only book that i just had to read was Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyers LOL!

As a reader and I don’t know what kind of books you read, but in my opinion….  and don’t get me wrong I am no prude..  But … are books getting really explicit in sex and language?  I will tell you why < insert coffee and chocolate here>  I’ve read some really good books that have had NO swearing or sex in them and I must say that the books I am reading more of are the teen books.  I am sick to death of people called Dane with smooth silky C*&KS..  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Seriously why, who cares?  What happened to a good old story…

index

Anyhooo this is what I am reading at the moment.  I have challenged myself to 12 books this year as I am possibly the slowest reader in the world.  But on a good note I can cross some of the reading goals off.  It’s a tween book and I am enjoying it.  Ok so its predictable but I can get in and out of it easy.  And after a day at my job, I like easy..

What are you guys reading?

Happy Sunday

Isn’t it just a happy Sunday too.  I was up nice an early, had my shower and put my PJ’s on.  My aim for the day was to do some work on my essay, finish my challenge for Faery Ink and then just relax as you do… So far I have finished my challenge for Faery Ink lol!!  To be fair <insert justifiable excuses here> I did sort out my stash of yarn and stationery at the side of my chair …

For you stationery lovers.  I recently discovered filo faxing/journaling what ever you would call it.  Here is mine for the week that I decorated with under the sea theme.

It’s not as nice as some of the ladies but still it’s really bright for my week at work.  I love it.

I also did this.  Amanda over at Faery Ink has a challenge on which I think I am still in time for LOL!!! Anyhoo it was Mardi Gras and I wanted to do a Day of the dead mask so this is what I came up with.  I used Aurora wings stamp and my promarkers to colour in.  But funny I haven’t coloured for a while and I am so out of practise.  The calendar is a freebie from Live Laugh Rowe.  It has the wonderful quote on it and it shall be going on my note board at work.

On the crochet I am still stash busting away a little sneaky peak. The challenge is over here at Linda's Crafty Corner

So I am off to enjoy the rest of my lovely sunny Sunday…

To read or not to read….

I really love reading and for a while now I have not been able to get past the first page or two..  I think it’s because I am reading books that are kindle free, but then on saying that I have bought a few.  I started a book the other day and the first sentence had ‘ He fucked up my fucking life he deserves to fucking pay’  and I was like REALLY???!!! Why do I have to read all this poop.  Don’t get me wrong I am no prude, but what happened to nice books that you can read without all the BS to go with it…

topbooksforthisyear

Anyhoo I came across Mique’s post who lead me on to Bringing up Burns.  Both post have given me the inspiration to get my butt up and reading.  So I am following both and I will be going through them slowly ( I am not a fast reader).

26 Books

On the side will be a list of books and a list of 26 books, why don’t you join in?  Do you read many books? Are you a speedy reader or a slow reader?  When do you read the most?  I know my reading time is before I go to sleep.

Neglect

Happy New Year!  I really, really should get back in the habit of blogging.  The thing is I really love blogging.  Ok so I am lazy lol! But again as you do < insert huge predictable sigh here> you try to improve on your habits one habit at a time.  Last year I never improved any habits at all.  In fact I probably made the ones I have worse..  Yep I ate rubbish, I stopped doing the things I love, why because the lazy one took over.  Oh how I hate her!

Anyhoo new year new promises and a new me?  I think maybe I should just strive to keep happy.  Yes!  Things that make me smile!

Here I am still in the land of blogging since 2001…  I love it..

Blogging makes me smile …
